The organisation
The Top Blokes Foundation is a leading for purpose organisation dedicated to addressing the growing rates of young male suicide and disengagement in the community. Initially established as a volunteer project, the Foundation has evolved over the years to deliver impactful mentoring programs that foster deeper and long-term change.
Today, Top Blokes Foundation engages 3,000 young males each year through their services. Delivering an interactive school-based program, facilitated by qualified youth workers, Top Blokes Foundation uses peer mentoring and social education principles to address issues including mental health and resilience, alcohol and other drugs, risk taking, anger management, bullying, racism and peer pressure. Young males are challenged to reconsider their attitudes on masculinity, influencing them to positively contribute to school, their broader community and to treat women respectfully.
The Top Blokes Foundation is entering a period of significant growth following a strategic review in 2022, at the same time it is embarking on a phase of board renewal. The current Chair, who has provided invaluable leadership for over a decade, will be stepping down, creating an opportunity for a new Chair to guide the organisation into its next chapter.
The role
Top Blokes Foundation is seeking to appoint an independent and credentialed Chair to shape the future direction of the Foundation and ensure its continued impact in improving the lives of young men in our community.
The Chair will be an accomplished and respected leader, with senior experience in relevant sectors (including corporate, government and for-purpose). They will have significant governance experience as a Chair, able to proactively advance the organisation’s governance framework ahead of future growth and impact. Strategic expertise and experience in sustainable revenue development, strategic planning combined with proven success in building effective relationships and partnerships, will be highly regarded.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly committed, commercial, and energetic leader who will guide the board, drive growth and expansion, and be a true advocate for the Top Blokes Foundation. Importantly, you will be committed to Top Bloke Foundation’s vision and purpose and be ready to take the Foundation to its next level.
