The organisation
Founded in 1985, Canteen is renowned as one of Australia’s most respected non-profit organisations offering vital support to young people aged 12-25 dealing with cancer, whether in their own lives or within their families. Through a range of services, including educational resources, peer support groups, psychological aid, recreational activities, and leadership opportunities, Canteen equips young people with the tools to navigate the emotional, physical, and practical complexities of cancer. Canteen’s Youth Cancer Services initiative in partnership with state health providers is internationally recognised as setting a benchmark for treatment and support of young patients. Canteen’s mission transcends support—it is a dynamic force empowering young people to develop the emotional strength they need to deal with cancer.
Canteen is at an exciting time in its evolution and has taken a strategic decision to re-integrate their marketing and fundraising functions. This synergistic approach will enable the organisation to effectively engage stakeholders and secure crucial resources for its mission.

The role also oversees the collection and analysis of marketing and fundraising metrics to gauge effectiveness and pivot strategies as needed.
