The organisation

Foyer Foundation is a national For-Purpose organisation equipped to support an innovative approach to empowering young people in crisis. Through the Foyer approach, young people have access to learning, employment and supportive services with two years of stable accommodation. Foyers are more than a solution to homelessness in each state as they provide 16 to 25 year old’s with the support they need to achieve independence. Foyer Foundation provides the advocacy, accreditation, research streams and data needed to enable Foyers to scale around Australia by working with Australia’s leading providers to build awareness, develop an investment model and grow the Foyer Movement.

The role

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the Foyer Foundation. You will be an important proponent of the Foyer movement in Australia, overseeing the delivery spending of Foyer Foundation funding, the National Foyer Impact Framework and the Accreditation of Youth Foyers. As CEO, you will not be responsible for the management of the operation of Foyers. You will have a small team and strong consultant resource base to leverage the positioning of the Foyer Foundation amongst funders, operators and with State and Commonwealth Government stakeholders.

Experience, knowledge & skills

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional relationship skills, including the ability to form and sustain collaborations amongst key stakeholders at a range of levels including the operators of the foyer facilities, government departments, Ministers, philanthropists, and young people
  • Exceptional ability to articulate a clear and compelling vision for the Foyer Foundation and garner support from stakeholders at a every level to enable delivery
  • Capacity to be a highly strategic thinker
  • Experience in managing complex problems and multiple stakeholders
  • High level skills in social impact investment, entrepreneurship and working with philanthropic partners
  • Demonstrable financial management skills including the ability to secure private sector funding
  • A broad understanding of policy and practice in the areas of education, employment and housing, and a commitment to the long-term resolution of disadvantage amongst young people
