The organisation
Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) is the national peak body representing the interest of 8.5 million Australians living with or at risk of macular disease and their families. Established in 2001 by Dr Paul Beaumont whose vision was to develop a patient-centric, independent and trusted organisation for those living with or at risk of macular disease.
MDFA’s purpose is to reduce the incidence and impact of macular disease through leadership in prevention and early detection, disease management, advocacy, and research. They work collaboratively and in partnership with the community, health professionals, researchers, and government to minimise the impact of macular disease.
The role
MDFA is seeking an inspirational, influential and inclusive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will lead the organisation on its next steps towards growth, sustainability and impact. Working closely with the board of directors, the CEO is responsible for strategic and operational business planning and performance, and the effective management of day-to-day operations, people and resources.
The CEO will be the public face of MDFA and be responsible for the design and delivery of the organisation’s vision, strategy and programs; managing critical relationships with all key stakeholders, including government, corporate and philanthropic partners and leading the overall governance, financial management and operation of the organisation. Your ability to build trusted relationships lead, motivate and inspire a professional and passionate team will be critical.
