Achieve Australia (Achieve) is a major disability services provider committed to supporting people with disability via the four pillars: to be well; have a home; choose a career; learn new skills; participate in their community; and enjoy a full life. Established in 1952, the organisation is a NDIS registered provider and delivers services in greater Sydney and the NSW Northern Rivers, with an agenda to extend its reach nationally.

As the NDIS has rolled out, Achieve has adapted and grown.  Now, Achieve is seeking a CEO who can take the business to the next level;  to collegially head an executive team in leading a large, dedicated staff;  to strategically and commercially develop the organisation;   and to be responsive to opportunities and challenges presented by the NDIS’s commercial landscape. Reporting to the board, the CEO will be involved in reviewing and developing Achieve’s strategy and setting it on course for national expansion.

Achieve is looking for an executive leader with:

  • Business acumen, with the ability and ambition to drive growth and improvement,
  • Appreciation of the scale, commerciality and amount of change involved with the NDIS, and astuteness in responding to that in ways that benefit the business
  • Experience in creating and implementing strategy
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders including clients, families, government, and community partners
  • Transparent and collegiate leadership coupled with high level communication skills
  • Alignment with the organisation’s principles of inclusiveness, stewardship, extraordinary outcomes for people with disabilities, and ethical practice

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of the above. Applicants with experience leading through change and growth, operating commercially within a compliance driven environment, and/or executive leadership experience in the disability or a related industry sector will be highly regarded.
