The organisation
The Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEF) is a national for-purpose organisation dedicated to helping rural and regional youth access post-school education, training and jobs through grants, scholarships, support services and resources. The Foundation works with and supports volunteers in regional communities to provide financial assistance and support to young people aspiring to education after school whether that be university, vocational education, or work-related training.
CEF’s mission is to promote and enable the further education, career and personal development opportunities for rural youth and help close the education participation gap that exists between country and city students.
Since its inception in NSW in 1993, CEF now has grown into a nationwide entity working across NSW, NT, Qld, SA, and Vic. To date the organisation has supported over 7,000 young people and have set themselves an ambitious goal to support 70,000 kids in the next 30 years.
The role
Building on its success to date and trusted reputation, the CEF is seeking their next experienced and inspiring Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will work closely with the Board to guide the organisation’s vision and strategy, enhance day-to-day operational management, and maintain a strong financial foundation to underpin significant growth as they embark on their next positive chapter.
The successful candidate will bring sound leadership and people management capability, be experienced in growing a business and implementing a careful growth strategy, ideally in the for-purpose sector. You will be highly skilled at managing and developing a diverse range of stakeholder relationships from donors, volunteers, education providers, and young people. Importantly, you will have a strong connection to regional Australia and closely aligned to CEF’s mission and values.
