Use your strong executive leadership experience, business acumen and people skills to manage and grow a successful, established disability organisation

  • Join a unique organisation that is well positioned for growth
  • Apply your commercial and strategic acumen in the NDIS era
  • Scale impact in creating freedom and autonomy within people’s lives

About the Organisation

Founded in 1992 by a group of people with physical disability, Living My Way Limited (LMW) pioneered support for people with disability to be fully self-managed and in control of their lives. Their unique position in the disability sector comes from first-hand experience in understanding the benefits and importance of living one’s life with autonomy and freedom.

LMW is a membership-based organisation. Members receive disability support funding from the NDIS, and the organisation offers a range of person-centric services that enables its members to employ their own support workers. While each member is considered a registered employer under the NDIS scheme, LMW alleviates the worrisome administrative obligations that come with that, so that each member can get on with life and pursue their social, recreational and career objectives.

About the Role

Living My Way Limited is seeking a CEO who can lead and leverage the organisation’s 28 years of history in the highly disruptive NDIS environment.

Working closely with the Board, this is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong operational and strategic capability to work across all areas of resourcing, financial, legal, compliance, people and risk management. The CEO will have an inclusive leadership style, be experienced in embedding new service lines, developing new innovative business models and sustainably growing business outcomes. They will have the capacity to lead and represent the organisation with integrity and empathy.

This role will lead a passionate and diverse team with varied skills and experience during a period of company growth. The challenge will be to create an inclusive environment that allows all staff to contribute meaningfully to delivery of the highest quality of service to members.

Specifically, Living My Way is looking for an executive leader with:

  • Business acumen, with the ability and ambition to drive growth and improvement
  • Appreciation of the scale, commerciality and amount of change involved with the NDIS, and astuteness in responding to that in ways that benefit the business while retaining quality service and member satisfaction
  • Experience in creating and implementing strategy
  • Experience in organisational compliance and governance
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders including members, government, peak bodies, and community partners
  • Transparent and collegiate leadership; able to engage and draw the best from a diverse team and foster a collaborative culture with the staff and the membership base
  • High level communication skills, including the ability to influence, and advocate for the organisation’s members in the disability sector
  • Experience in reporting to, and working with a Board
  • Alignment with the organisation’s values of trust and helpfulness, respect, flexibility and consistent quality.
