The organisation
The Y Victoria is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to building healthier, happier communities through its diverse range of services, including recreation, camping, and youth programs. With a rich history of fostering personal and community development, The Y Victoria operates gyms, pools, and leisure centres, ensuring that every person has the opportunity to thrive. Their mission is to create positive, meaningful change, with a focus on inclusivity, well-being, and social responsibility across Victoria.
The opportunity
The Y Victoria is seeking passionate and commercially minded Board Directors to help steer the organisation towards future growth. As they continue updating their skills matrix, The Y is looking for candidates with a specialist background in recreation, strong commercial acumen in multi-site operating businesses, and an ability to identify innovative opportunities to further their mission.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organisation with a $250 million turnover and a significant role in property development, helping to keep recreation alive in Victoria.
The Y Victoria fosters and encourages diversity. First Nations and individuals from the LGBTQI or Disability communities with relevant skills and experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role however Directors are reimbursed for any reasonable out of pocket expenses.
