The organisation
Teach for Australia (TFA) exists to transform education and achieve equity for every child in Australia. Since 2009, TFA has been building a future force of educational leaders, committed to unlocking the potential students in communities where it’s needed most. Guided by the vision of an Australia where education empowers every child, TFA recruits and develops exceptional individuals who are passionate about making a difference – starting as classroom leaders and growing into change-makers.
At the heart of TFA’s impact is the flagship Leadership Development Program, an innovative pathway into teaching that combines professional training with a deep commitment to leadership. Over 15 years, this program has shaped over 1,800 purpose-driven educators, reaching more than 650,000 students across 600 schools. TFA’s support doesn’t stop there, as it also delivers tailored mentoring and leadership initiatives for teachers, embedding lasting change in schools and their communities.
Now, at a pivotal moment in its journey, TFA is poised to build on a strong foundation, an engaged alumni network, and a dynamic leadership team. With its founding CEO stepping down after 15 years of transformative leadership, the organisation is ready to enter its next chapter of innovation and growth. Backed by a proven track record and an unwavering moral purpose, TFA is focused on driving systemic change and empowering every student to thrive.
