About the organisation

Healthy North Coast (HNC), operates to support the health needs of NSW’s North Coast community.

It works to streamline services and co-ordinate care within the region and works alongside local health care professionals, social services and hospitals to achieve this goal. The organisation is one of 31 Primary Health Networks (PHNs) primarily funded by the Commonwealth Government throughout Australia.

HNC places the patient experience and wellbeing at the centre of everything they do. They recognise that strong, mutually respectful partnerships with service providers ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality services to those most at risk of poor health, as well as keeping communities informed about healthcare resources and education around self-care.

Healthy North Coast is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee incorporated by the Corporations Act and is endorsed as a health promotion charity.

About the role

As a Director of HNC, you will play a critical role in the strategic leadership of the company alongside other members of the board and the Executive Team.

HNC are particularly looking for skills and experience in health information technology, clinical governance, AI and cyber security.  Network capabilities across Indigenous Health, academia, and/or health research, and connection to local community networks will also be highly regarded.

An understanding of governance, including director roles and responsibilities, corporate strategy development, risk management will also be critical. Candidates should be value-based, inclusive, and ethical leaders with effective interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, and a focus on diversity and inclusion.

This is an opportunity for you to support the health sector, specifically the community of North Coast. While direct experience in the health sector is preferred, a passion for the health and well-being of the community is essential.

HNC is an organisation that is genuinely passionate about making change and innovating. Directors are paid a modest stipend including a portion for professional development, and reasonable out of pocket expenses. Additionally, Directors are supplied with the appropriate technology requirements to ensure they can participate in all forums.
