The organisation
Mission Australia (MA) is a dynamic, national, non-denominational Christian community service organisation, committed to empowering vulnerable Australians to move towards independence and a better life. With a rich history dating back to 1859, MA currently employs a nationwide team of almost 2,500 staff and around 1,100 volunteers, serving circa 150,000 clients each year to tackle pressing issues such as homelessness, mental health, disability and unemployment through innovative and impactful programs. The role
With 3,000 Australians reaching out to homeless services every hour, in Australia, joining Mission Australia’s Board of Directors offers a rare and fulfilling opportunity to leverage your extensive skills and experience in a meaningful way. As a member of the Board, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organisation to meet its Founding Purpose: to serve human need and spread the knowledge of the love of God, inspired by Jesus Christ. Your strong commercial acumen, combined with listed board experience, strong expertise in accounting/audit, and in areas such as law, social and affordable housing, property and construction, community services or Indigenous affairs, will be invaluable. Your experience in governance and your strategic mindset will help shape the future of MA’s impactful programs.
