With a rich history of fostering personal and community development, The Y Victoria operates gyms, pools, and leisure centres, ensuring that every person has the opportunity to thrive. Their mission is to create positive, meaningful change, with a focus on inclusivity, well-being, and social responsibility across Victoria.
The opportunity
The Y Victoria is seeking a passionate and commercially minded Board Director to help steer the organisation towards future growth. As they continue updating their skills matrix, The Y is looking for candidates with strong commercial acumen in growing businesses, and an ability to identify innovative opportunities to further their mission.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic organisation with a turnover exceeding $200 million. The Board is looking to appoint a new Director with strong executive and governance experience in a highly commercial business—ideally one of similar size to the Y—that has undergone growth, innovation, and/or M&A activities.
The Y Victoria fosters and encourages diversity. First Nations and individuals from the LGBTQI or Disability communities with relevant skills and experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role however Directors are reimbursed for any reasonable out of pocket expenses.
