The organisation
Ecstra Foundation addresses the critical need for better financial literacy, capability, and wellbeing in Australia by empowering people to make informed financial decisions and to plan for their financial futures. Ecstra is unique with a dedicated focus on supporting financial education and wellbeing initiatives. Since inception it has committed over $33 million in grants and support to community projects, education programs like the flagship Talk Money schools initiative, and system reform to address the many structural barriers to financial inclusion and economic security.
Ecstra partners with educators, consumer groups, communities and policymakers to tackle financial challenges at individual and systemic levels. Governed by an experienced Board and leadership team, the Foundation is driven by its mission to build the financial wellbeing of Australians within a fair financial system.
The roles
Ecstra Foundation is seeking two Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to join the Board, bringing sector leadership and expertise in finance and education to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organisation.
The first role, Chair of Investment, Audit and Risk will oversee Ecstra’s Risk Management Framework, regulatory compliance and governance, financial reporting requirements and reviewing external investment management performance. This NED will bring deep expertise in finance, audit, risk management and governance leadership and oversight.
The second NED will be an Education specialist, a highly respected leader with a national profile in the education sector, proven experience in government engagement, and credibility as a trusted authority and advocate for educational excellence. An individual who has the strategic insight and experience to represent Ecstra’s mission with key stakeholders would be highly valued.
