Case Study: Telstra

Telstra is Australia’s largest telecommunications and media company and they believe the more connected people are, the more opportunities they have. They are committed to sustainability and to community engagement, with a focus on employee involvement with the community. One of Telstra’s contributions to the for-purpose sector is to support leaders looking to participate through their leadership program.

Telstra General Manager – Talent Development and Performance, Paul Stratford, was looking to provide his executive team with the opportunity to participate in an interactive program designed to increase executive leadership capability and support personal and professional growth and success.

People for Purpose supported Telstra by running a Leadership for Social Impact workshop for executives. Attendees were high-impact, high-potential executives who have a desire to utilise their expertise or influence for positive social change. We equip them with the knowledge and insights required to add value to social purpose organisations, and recommend opportunities to pursue meaningful engagement with for-purpose boards.

People for Purpose opened my eyes to the reality of the for-purpose sector. They provided deep insights into the challenges and opportunities in this market segment. Their framework really helped me focus my attention and provide clarity around what I am most passionate about and then through industry contacts, helped me navigate this complex ecosystem.
