  • Çreate impact through engaging with a range of stakeholders

The organisation

Coeliac Australia (CA) is a membership-based organisation which has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of people affected by coeliac disease and related conditions for over 40 years. CA aims to build and disseminate knowledge, empower and build confident communities and to influence decision makers to achieve continuous improvement in the lives of people affected by coeliac disease.

As the leading national registered charity, CA supports Australians living with coeliac disease and associated conditions requiring a gluten-free diet.  They strive to lead the national research agenda in partnership with key researchers and institutions, connecting people with coeliac disease to timely information, education and support.  Additionally, they advocate for health initiatives to the international community, federal government, health professionals and the food industry.

CA recently announced an investment of over $600,000 in vital coeliac disease research over the next two years – its largest-ever contribution to research.  The funding will support 5 projects by leading Australian researchers working towards breakthroughs in coeliac disease diagnosis, management and care.  All these projects have the potential for widespread, life-changing impact.

The role

Building on its success and solid reputation to date, CA seeks to appoint its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a leader who will drive growth, collaborate with the Board on vision and strategy, enhance operational management, and ensure financial stability for continued expansion.

The successful candidate will have previous executive level experience and be a transformative leader, with expertise in building brand, raising awareness, able to identify and attract new funding sources and manage the day-to-day operations, people and resources.  An understanding of finance as well as an ability to communicate and deliver the organisation’s message with a range of stakeholders is important, as is an ability to think outside the square and create growth within a for-purpose context. The new CEO will have exemplary strategic and operational skills and thrive in leading, coaching and developing a team of dedicated employees and volunteers. An understanding of governance and experience in reporting to and working with a board is important.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader with  drive to create impact, who is passionate about people and the Coeliac Australia cause, and who is aligned with the organisation’s values.
