The organisation

Lifestart is a for-purpose organisation that supports children and young people living with disability, along with their families and communities, to reach their full potential. With a workforce of over 190 staff and a strong early childhood contract base, Lifestart delivers services across Greater Sydney and online.

Established in 1996 by a group of parents seeking better opportunities for their children, Lifestart has grown into a trusted provider of early childhood and disability support services. The organisation is known for its person-centred approach, committed multidisciplinary teams, and deep focus on quality and inclusion. With a solid foundation in place, Lifestart is focused on ensuring long-term sustainability, expanding its influence, and further strengthening the experience of staff and the families it serves.

The role

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead Lifestart through a critical period of strategic and cultural consolidation. You will work closely with an engaged Board and executive team to deliver on the organisation’s vision—ensuring it remains financially sound, future-focused, and trusted by the families and communities it supports.

You will bring proven executive leadership in human services or allied sectors, strong commercial acumen, and a clear understanding of person- and family-centred service delivery. A warm, values-aligned leadership style is essential, along with a clear and collaborative approach to communication, change and accountability.

In addition to strong internal leadership, the CEO will be a confident and credible voice in the broader disability and early childhood sectors. You will represent Lifestart in high-level engagement with government and funding bodies, and build collaborative relationships across the sector to influence policy, share expertise, and extend the organisation’s reach.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a deeply respected for-purpose organisation, strengthen its position in a shifting sector, and make a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people.
