Lead faith-based finance and growth for a Christian vocational college shaping lives.
  • Partner with CEO to deliver strategy and sustainability
  • Oversee financial management and reporting, property, and budgets
  • Support business development and growth in vocational training

The organisation

Founded in 1943 by the Baptist Churches of NSW, Bedford College is a leading provider of vocational education and training in business, education, and community services. Rooted in a Christian ethos of care, service and excellence, the College has a longstanding reputation for transforming lives through skills-based learning. Today, Bedford is expanding its reach through innovative programs, new partnerships, and national growth opportunities in the VET sector.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Finance Officer / Business Manager (CFO/BM) plays a central role in the leadership team. You’ll work closely with the CEO to strengthen Bedford’s financial sustainability, while ensuring the systems, people and processes that support the College continue to run smoothly.

This is a hands-on leadership role covering finance, property, HR, ICT and governance. You’ll lead a small, capable team and provide trusted advice on both day-to-day operations and longer-term planning.

We’re looking for someone who brings both rigour and heart – a CPA or CA-qualified professional with experience in education or VET finance, who can translate numbers into insights and ideas. You’ll be curious, practical and collaborative, able to spot opportunities for growth and improvement. Most importantly, you’ll share Bedford’s Christian values and approach your work with integrity, service and care for others.
