The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) is Australia’s leading independent voice on alcohol harm prevention. FARE’s mission is to advance the evidence base, advocate for policy change, and promote community well-being by addressing the significant harms caused by alcohol. The role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide visionary leadership to drive the organisation’s mission of reducing alcohol-related harm through strategic advocacy, community engagement, community education, research, and policy development. This role involves leveraging existing relationships, working alongside people with a lived experience, leading a high-performing team, strengthening partnerships across government, business, and community sectors, and positioning FARE as a trusted voice in public health policy. The CEO will oversee financial sustainability, secure funding from diverse sources, and ensure operational excellence while proactively addressing emerging challenges in alcohol harm reduction.
The next CEO will be an experienced leader, with a strong background in public health, advocacy, community engagement, community education and stakeholder engagement. You will demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to influence (at the highest level) government policy and media discourse.
