How to find, engage and secure Directors with a lived experience of disability

More and more clients are seeking our assistance to navigate the journey to greater diversity and how best they get the voice of people with disabilities at the Board table influencing Board and executive decisions.

With an increased scrutiny on disability service provider Boards post the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, more and more clients are seeking our assistance to navigate the journey to greater diversity and how best they get the voice of people with disabilities (their customer’s voice) at the Board table influencing Board and executive decisions. For some, they have implemented a formal committee that includes service users and their support networks that report directly to the Board and periodically meet with Board members to provide feedback, and raise issues and contribute to organisational policies and processes. For others, they have decided to appoint several leaders living with a disability to their Board.
