Flourish Australia is one of the nation’s leading community-based mental health organisations, supporting over 10,000 people annually across NSW, ACT, VIC, SA, and QLD. Established in 2012 through the merger of Richmond Fellowship and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Australia, its roots trace back more than 60 years. The role
Flourish Australia is seeking a seasoned and values-aligned Chair to lead its Board through a period of strategic evolution and governance renewal. With the current Chair retiring at the end of 2025, the incoming Chair will support a refreshed Board, provide sound oversight, and work closely with the CEO and executive team to guide Flourish through its next phase.
The ideal candidate will bring prior experience as a Chair or senior board leader, with a deep understanding of board operations, risk, and organisational oversight. They will also have had a background in executive leadership.
Flourish Australia places strong emphasis on cultural fit. The Chair will lead with humility and maturity, fostering a respectful and collegial environment where diverse perspectives are encouraged. A natural facilitator and steady presence, they will support robust discussion and inclusive decision-making, while modelling the organisation’s values in action.
