Lead the Board of a thriving social enterprise creating employment, education and opportunity for communities across Australia.
- Chair a high-performing, values-led Board
- Balance purpose, governance and commercial sustainability
- Guide future growth, innovation and social impact
The organisation
MTC FutureReady is a purpose-driven social enterprise that empowers people and communities through employment, education and support services. For more than 35 years, the organisation has helped individuals facing barriers to opportunity build skills, confidence and pathways to sustainable futures.
Headquartered in Western Sydney, MTC FutureReady has earned a strong reputation for delivering meaningful social impact while maintaining commercial strength and financial sustainability. Working closely with government, community and industry partners, the organisation supports thousands of Australians each year through employment, training and community programs.
Guided by the values of Empathy, Innovation, Collaboration and Achievement, MTC FutureReady is committed to creating a future where every person has equitable access to opportunity and the ability to thrive.
The opportunity
Following a long and successful tenure, MTC FutureReady’s current Chair Rob Campbell will be stepping down in mid 2027. As the organisation enters into this important period of leadership transition, the Board is seeking expressions of interest to find an accomplished and purpose-driven Chair to fill the role.
Working closely with the CEO and Board, the Chair will steward the organisation’s mission and values while providing strategic leadership and governance oversight for a large and financially sustainable social enterprise. The successful candidate will foster a collaborative Board culture, support organisational performance and help guide MTC FutureReady through its next phase of growth, innovation and impact.
The Board is seeking candidates with substantial Chair and/or Non-Executive Director experience, strong commercial and strategic capability, and the ability to operate effectively within complex stakeholder and government environments. The role is ideally suited to a senior executive leader, preferably with Chief Executive Officer experience. Experience within human services, employment, education, community services, or other government-funded sectors will be highly regarded.
This role will suit a future-focused leader. MTC FutureReady’s culture is regarded internally as one of its greatest strengths – reflected in strong staff engagement, low turnover and a genuine, people-first approach to leadership. The Board is seeking a Chair who will actively protect and champion this culture, recognising staff as a key organisational asset, and who will bring the same spirit of trust, empathy and collaboration to the Board-executive relationship.
The successful candidate will be genuinely motivated by MTC FutureReady’s purpose and social impact, and who will bring the time, commitment and collaborative leadership style needed to contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s future.
