Join a consumer advocacy organsation focused on advancing the interests of people on low and middle incomes in Australia’s superannuation system.
- Bring your governance expertise to a Chair or board director role.
- Positively impact the lives of Australians via the superannuation system.
- Leverage your networks and influencing skills.
The organisation
Super Consumers Australia (SC) is an independent, non-for-profit consumer advocacy organisation dedicated to achieving a fair, transparent, and accountable superannuation system that delivers the best outcomes for everyday Australians. With a strong reputation for evidence-based policy development and a commitment to public interest, Super Consumers Australia champions reforms to prioritise the needs of low and middle-income earners, women, and vulnerable members of the community. The organisation works closely with regulators, policymakers, industry and other stakeholders to ensure the voices of superannuation consumers are heard and represented at the highest levels of decision-making.
The role
With the current Chair retiring in the last quarter of 2025, and with the desire to grow the board in number, SC is looking to recruit two new members – a Chair, and a Non-Executive Director.
Specifically, SC welcomes candidates who bring a strong alignment with their mission as a consumer advocate and a non-partisan voice.
The successful candidates will have previous executive leader experience and will bring a solid background in either consumer advocacy or have substantial experience in or around the superannuation ecosystem. A sound understanding of the government and political landscape is essential; previous experience within the not-for-profit space would be looked upon favourably.
The incoming Chair will be an experienced board leader who has previously served as Chair. They will bring strategic insight, sound judgement, and an ability to foster collaboration and purpose-driven impact across the board and executive team. A confident communicator and natural convener, they will play a critical role in shaping the next phase of SC’s evolution.
These voluntary positions are an excellent opportunity to work with a committed Board to deliver significant and measurable social impact.
