The organisation

Founded in 1817, Bible Society Australia (BSA) is the nation’s oldest continuously operating organisation and part of the global United Bible Societies fellowship. Its enduring mission is to “open the Bible to all people everywhere by all means possible.” BSA works across Australia, the Pacific and beyond to translate, publish, distribute and engage people with the Scriptures, helping them access and understand God’s Word in their own language and context. Through innovative use of digital media, technology and partnerships, BSA connects with diverse audiences and advances Bible engagement globally. It also supports public theology and faith-based dialogue through initiatives such as the Centre for Public Christianity (CPX). Following the divestment of Koorong Books, BSA is entering a new chapter of renewal and growth, focused on strengthening its missional impact, ensuring long-term sustainability, and inspiring lives through Scripture.
