The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia is a globally recognised non-formal education framework that empowers young Australians aged 14–24 to discover their purpose, passion, and place in the world.  The Duke of Ed Framework supports transformative initiatives beyond the classroom, to equip young people with essential life skills and experiences for growth, fostering resilience, adaptability, and a sense of community. 

The role

Duke of Ed seeks a dynamic and strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to drive national operations and innovation, as it embarks upon a period of significant growth and transformation.  

Reporting to the CEO, the COO will lead divisional teams, enhance program delivery, and forge strategic partnerships within the Education sector and Government, to expand reach and impact. 

Your drive and passion for empowerment will go into full drive in this exciting chapter, further growing Australia’s reputation as the leader of excellence and innovation throughout the International Award family.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Divisional Leadership: Lead the state and territory divisions by driving operational excellence and growth while ensuring alignment with national and international objectives. 
  • Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage relationships with Award Operating Authorities (AOAs), government bodies, and corporate partners to drive program growth. 
  • Program Management: Lead the implementation of training policies, oversee the program’s integrity and ensure its continuous improvement. 
  • Digital Innovation: Spearhead digital projects to enhance user experiences and operational efficiency. 
  • Business Development: Drive external funding initiatives, including government and donor grant applications, to secure and grow financial resources.
