The organisation
Disability Employment Investments (DEInvestments) is a new philanthropic collective committed to transforming employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities in Australia. With only 27% of working-age individuals with disabilities currently employed, regularly under poor conditions, DEInvestments seeks to shift this paradigm through strategic investment and community-driven innovation. Working at three levels, nationally at the system-level, regionally through placed-based programs and in community through individual investments, DEInvestments aims to create 270,000 better jobs and 100,000 new jobs over the next decade, focusing on conditions, wages and choice.
Grounded in values of integrity, equity, collaboration, innovation, and encouragement, DEInvestments operates through guiding principles like revenue-driven enterprise, local networked solutions, and measurable impact. Its mission is to ensure people with significant disabilities are engaged in meaningful, sustainable work.
The role
The Head of Philanthropy & Evaluation will play a vital leadership role in advancing Disability Employment Investments’ mission by cultivating strategic relationships across philanthropy, business and government. The role is responsible for building and nurturing a strong network of funders, partners, and sector collaborators to drive system-level change in disability employment. This role requires a connector – someone who can forge meaningful partnerships, inspire aligned strategic philanthropy, and champion DEInvestments’ vision through compelling marketing, communication, and reporting initiatives.
Additionally, this leader will oversee the organisation’s approach to monitoring, evaluation, and learning, aligned with strategic goals, and continually improving. They will ensure progress is measured and communicated, demonstrating impact to stakeholders and contributing to shared learning across the sector. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong background in philanthropy who brings both relational acumen and analytical rigour, and who thrives in a purpose-driven, collaborative environment.
