The organisation
Disability Employment Investments (DEInvestments) is a new philanthropic collective committed to transforming employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities in Australia. With only 27% of working-age individuals with disabilities currently employed, regularly under poor conditions, DEInvestments seeks to shift this paradigm through strategic investment and community-driven innovation. Working at three levels, nationally at the system-level, regionally through placed-based programs and in community through individual investments, DEInvestments aims to create 270,000 better jobs and 100,000 new jobs over the next decade, focusing on conditions, wages and choice.

The role
The Head of Social Impact Investing will join the pioneering leadership team at DEInvestments, playing a critical role in shaping and executing the organisation’s investment strategy. This role requires a technically skilled and mission-driven business leader with deep experience in social enterprise, employment-focused ventures, and impact-driven capital deployment. Acting with the agility and insight of an angel investor, the successful candidate will assess, design, and support innovative funding solutions that enable scalable employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities.
With a strong track record in investment and sector expertise, the Head of Social Impact Investing will bring business acumen, a consulting mindset, and a commitment to outcomes. This leader will work across a portfolio of enterprises, ranging from early-stage innovators to established operators, ensuring financial and social returns are maximised. This is a unique opportunity for a values-aligned leader to apply their business and investments capabilities toward sustainable, systemic change in inclusive employment across Australia.
