The organisation
Disability Employment Investments (DEInvestments) is a new philanthropic collective committed to transforming employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities in Australia. With only 27% of working-age individuals with disabilities currently employed, regularly under poor conditions, DEInvestments seeks to shift this paradigm through strategic investment and community-driven innovation. Working at three levels, nationally at the system-level, regionally through placed-based programs and in community through individual investments, DEInvestments aims to create 270,000 better jobs and 100,000 new jobs over the next decade, focusing on conditions, wages and choice.

Its mission is to ensure people with significant disabilities are engaged in meaningful, sustainable work.
The role
The Head of Strategy & Programs will shape the strategic direction and delivery framework of DEInvestments’ work. As a key member of the pioneering team, this role is suited to a systems thinker with a background in management consulting, policy, or social impact who can lead the journey from blank sheet of paper to actionable roadmap. This leader will drive the design and implementation of place-based models and programs that enable long-term, systemic change in employment for people with significant disabilities.
The role demands strong capabilities in strategic design, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy. Lead on relationship management across sectors, design interventions that respond to local contexts, and build momentum for scalable, sustainable solutions. Deep sector expertise in systems-level strategy for longitudinal change will be essential in delivering DEInvestments’ mission with both clarity and impact.
