Contribute to governance at WSCLC and help shape justice and community outcomes for Western Sydney.
- Bring your human services expertise to a purpose-driven board
- Champion people-centred, trauma-informed service delivery
- Join a mission-driven board making real social impact
The organisation
Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC) exists to provide free legal and social support services for individuals in Western Sydney who are experiencing hardship or systemic barriers. Their broad suite of programs includes legal advice, advocacy, referrals and representation through services such as the Community Legal Centre Program, the Aboriginal Legal Access Program, Domestic Violence Court Advocacy, Tenants’ Services, Home Building Advocacy, Youth Education, and Court Assistance for both children and adults. WSCLC is committed to social justice, reconciliation and working inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, acknowledging and respecting the traditional custodians of the land.
WSCLC is a not-for-profit public company governed by a skills-based volunteer board, accredited by the National Association of Community Legal Centres.
The role
WSCLC is seeking a Non-Executive Director with senior experience in the human services sector — someone who understands trauma-informed practice, community development, and service delivery for people facing disadvantage.
You may come from backgrounds such as community housing, homelessness services, youth services, mental health, social impact, or other areas of human or social services. What matters most is your capacity to think strategically, challenge assumptions, and bring wisdom and innovation to a board navigating significant growth and transformation.
Governance experience is important, but WSCLC is open to candidates who bring practical leadership and community insight more than formal governance qualifications. You’ll join a committed board and CEO working to strengthen impact, sustainability, and systems that support people through complex life challenges.
A strong connection to Western Sydney — through residence, work, or community involvement — is highly valued, along with the time and commitment to be an active contributor. This is a voluntary role – your time, insight, and expertise can help drive meaningful change in a purpose-led organisation.
