The role

WWF-Australia is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leader to join its Board as a Non-Executive Director. This important appointment reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening First Nations representation and embedding Indigenous knowledge, perspectives and leadership within its governance and strategic direction. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the future of one of Australia’s leading environmental organisations and contribute to WWF-Australia’s mission to Regenerate Nature by 2030.The successful candidate will bring strong governance capability together with a demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability, conservation outcomes and social impact. They will contribute to strategic oversight, organisational sustainability, risk management and long-term decision-making while supporting WWF-Australia’s mission to Regenerate Nature by 2030.

The appointee will join the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee, bringing strong financial capability, strategic oversight and risk management expertise to help guide WWF-Australia’s long-term sustainability and delivery of its bold vision to Regenerate Nature by 2030. They may also have the opportunity to contribute to, or potentially chair, WWF-Australia’s Indigenous People’s Advisory Panel, ensuring First Nations leadership and perspectives continue to shape the organisation’s governance, innovation and environmental impact for future generations.
