The Sydney Adventist Hospital, popularly known as “The San”, is NSW’s largest private hospital. Established in 1903 in Wahroonga, it is now a world class facility providing exceptional patient care, utilising advanced medical technology, and exhibiting a deep commitment to clinical research and education. It is a not-for-profit organisation.
San Foundation, originally established in 1987 as the “Sydney Adventist Hospital Foundation”, serves as the philanthropic arm of The San. For over 35 years, it has helped ensure the hospital remains at the forefront of medical excellence by securing donations that fund essential research, cutting-edge technology, education, and facility enhancements. Guided by values of integrity, passion, accountability, and transparency, San Foundation’s mission is to drive innovation and deliver outstanding patient care through the generosity of supporters.
The role
As a Non-Executive Director of San Foundation, you will help guide the organisation’s governance, strategy, and culture while supporting the CEO and safeguarding its reputation. The role involves attending Board and committee meetings, critically reviewing proposals, upholding fiduciary duties, and ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance to advance the Foundation’s mission.
San Foundation is seeking a Non-Executive Director with a distinguished professional background and substantial networks, capable of leveraging their profile to drive meaningful fundraising opportunities. The ideal individual will have a strong connection to The San and demonstrate alignment with Adventist values, while being geographically engaged with the hospital’s community and events. Candidates who have reached the pinnacle of their profession, bring credibility, and possess both strategic insight and influence will thrive in this role, helping to expand the Foundation’s impact through leadership, connectivity, and advocacy.
