The organisation
For more than 60 years, Caritas Australia has worked alongside communities experiencing poverty, inequality and injustice, both in Australia and around the world. As the international aid and development agency of the Catholic Church in Australia, Caritas Australia partners with vulnerable communities across Asia, Africa, the Pacific, the Middle East and Australia to create lasting change through locally led development and humanitarian programs.
Guided by its mission to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity, Caritas Australia works through an Accompaniment Model that empowers communities to identify their own priorities and build sustainable solutions. Through partnerships, advocacy and community engagement, the organisation supports education, livelihoods, water and sanitation, emergency response, social inclusion and resilience-building initiatives.
As Caritas Australia responds to increasingly complex global challenges, it is seeking to appoint two to three new Non-Executive Directors who will contribute to the organisation’s strategic leadership and governance.
