The organisation

Vertaview Group is an Australian registered charity and substantial human services group supporting people to live independently, remain connected to community and access the services they need across disability, mental health, aged care, housing and support coordination.

Operating under the legal name Vertaview Group Ltd, the Group brings together Multicap, Open Minds, Allinto, Arbourwell, All About Living and Elvara, with a combined legacy spanning more than 175 years. From its Queensland foundations, Vertaview has grown into a larger and more complex organisation, now employing around 2,500 people and supporting more than 8,000 people across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Vertaview’s work is focused on enabling people to live with dignity, choice and independence, supported in their homes and connected to their communities. As the organisation continues to grow, the Group has an opportunity to increase its impact, strengthen service integration and build a sustainable platform for the future.

The opportunities

Vertaview Group is seeking to appoint two complementary Non-Executive Directors as part of planned Board renewal.

This is a Board renewing from strength. Vertaview is financially sustainable, collegiate and well governed, and is now seeking Directors who can contribute to the organisation’s next phase of scale, national growth and evolution.
The Board is particularly interested in candidates bringing commercial, enterprise and care/human services executive capability to complement the Group CEO and support the Board’s oversight of growth, service sustainability and increasing organisational breadth.

Directors will join a collaborative Board committed to excellent governance and improving outcomes for the people and communities Vertaview Group serves.

Chair-Ready Non-Executive Director

This is a senior, Chair-ready appointment for an experienced Board or Committee Chair with significant CEO, C-suite or equivalent enterprise leadership experience in a complex organisation.

You will bring strategic and commercial acumen, sound governance judgement and the ability to contribute to future Board leadership. You will be comfortable engaging with a highly capable and commercially oriented Group CEO, broadening strategic perspective and supporting disciplined decision-making across a complex group structure.

Experience in human services, including disability, aged care, mental health, community services or adjacent regulated environments, will be highly regarded. Experience leading or governing growth, transformation, M&A, group structures or multi-service-line organisations will also be valuable.

Non-Executive Director

This appointment is suited to a senior disability, NDIS or broader human services leader who brings deep sector understanding, governance maturity and stakeholder credibility.

You will strengthen the Board’s insight into service delivery, quality, risk, regulation and the commercial realities of operating sustainably in a changing human services environment. You may bring experience from service leadership, policy, regulation, funding, commissioning or complex stakeholder environments.

The Board will value candidates who can engage constructively with government, regulators, funders and sector partners, and who bring strong financial literacy and the ability to contribute meaningfully to Board and committee discussions.

About you

Across the two appointments, Vertaview is seeking Directors who bring:

  • CEO, C-suite, senior executive, Board or Committee Chair experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy
  • Experience in complex, multi-service-line or group environments
  • Insight into disability, aged care, mental health, housing, NDIS or broader human services
  • Strategic judgement, curiosity and constructive challenge
  • Constructive, relationship-led and effective across Board and executive dynamics.
  • Commitment to social purpose, community impact and contemporary governance

Formal governance qualifications such as GAICD or equivalent will be well regarded.
