Our brief
In 2023, MS Plus was at a pivotal juncture, and needed to recruit several highly experienced Non-Executive Directors. These directors needed expertise in fundraising and marketing, IT or investment strategy, as well as qualifications from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. MS Plus trusted in us to locate and bring on 4 Non-Executive Directors with the skills and experience that they needed.
About

MS Plus is a leading provider of information, advice and support for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neurological conditions across Australia’s eastern states.

The organisation helps clients and their carers lead fulfilling lives by offering a range of services, support and referral pathways that ensure the best long-term outcomes.

MS Plus also funds research into the causes and treatments of MS, with a focus on finding a cure.

With an annual budget of around $47 million and almost $60 million in total revenue, the organisation employs more than 300 staff and relies on a large volunteer base.

Commercial services provide nearly 50% of their funding. The remainder comes from donations, bequests and investment returns, and a small portion from the government.

Outcome

Since their appointment, the new directors at MS Plus have been instrumental in expanding the organisation’s service offerings and managing the recently acquired business, Nursing Port Stephens Pty Ltd.

Their contributions have included:

  • building and launching Wellbeing Centres
  • introducing new key worker roles
  • adopting a novel approach to supporting newly diagnosed individuals
  • implementing new carer and diversity & inclusion strategies.

Specifically, the 4 Wellbeing Centres in Blackburn and Footscray (Victoria), Hobart (Tasmania) and Lidcombe (New South Wales) provide services that enhance the daily lives of people with neurological conditions. MS Plus continues to make a real difference in people’s lives.ent, reconciliation, and home and living choices for people with disability.
