The organisation

Grok Academy is dedicated to educating all learners in transformative computing skills.  The Grok team are educators and software engineers who are committed to giving everyone the power to code and are passionate about teaching the next generation the skills they need to become the creators of tomorrow. They believe that a solid computer science understanding is vital whether you want to fight climate change, make the next blockbuster movie or unlock the secrets of the universe.  The Grok team are now bringing top-notch STEM education into classrooms and homes around the world.

Grok has recently partnered with Richard White, CEO of WiseTech Global, and long-term Grok champion, to grow the organisation’s size and impact and is looking to appoint additional Board members to consolidate and improve its ability to lead this transformation.

The role

The Grok Academy Board is collegiate and committed, with a genuine passion and commitment to the organisation’s mission and values.  The Board is now looking to appoint new directors who are committed to their vision and purpose and bring a mix of skills in critical areas including, but not limited to, delivering on good governance and an understanding of the regulatory environment; have a sound knowledge of financial, investment and risk management; strategic planning and proven partnership building capability and familiarity with using theory of change as an ‘outcomes-based’ approach.

This is a unique and substantial opportunity for experienced board directors with skills and experience in strategic planning and business development, risk management, financial modelling and budget analysis, or legal and regulatory compliance.
