Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is known for pioneering innovative solutions to Australia’s most pressing social challenges.
People for Purpose were delighted to support SVA with the appointment of James Toomey who commenced as the new Chief Executive Officer in January 2025.
Following a comprehensive executive search process, James joins at a time of great opportunity for the organisation to deepen its impact and drive systems-level change.
With a career grounded in social purpose leadership, James brings strategic insight, cross-sector relationships, and a values-led approach to continuing SVA’s important work. His appointment reflects SVA’s commitment to courageous leadership, community-led change, and building partnerships that shift the dial on inequality in Australia.
